Today is Monday the 23rd of June and the wedding is one week behind us. During the many months of preparation, both physically and spiritually, the biggest challenge, for me at least, was to keep my peace. I felt like we were preparing for a spectacular elicpse. Saturday, the 14th of June was the day my daughter, Tobie married her Boaz man.
When the day actually arrived we all experienced the blessings and the grace of our Lord. Around 200 of our closest family and freinds were in attendance. It truly felt like a family reunion. Everyone was so relaxed and enjoying themselves. When our pastor, Pastor Terry and Carlos, the groom entered, everyone stood cheering and clapping. What a way to start a wedding. My daughter didn't want anything too serious so she chose "At Last" by Etta James as the music to enter by." At last my true love has come. I'm not lonely anymore." I love those words. I know every unmarried woman there wanting a husband stood up on the inside, waving a hankie, saying "Amen Sister Amen". When the new couple Mr. & Mrs. Hernandez walked down the asile Al Green was singing "Let's Stay Together".
The reception was beautiful and the meal was delicious. Again everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves. When it was time for Carlos to toss the garter, three young men stood up. His two brothers and my son. I guess if there were any other single guys they were laying low. Things are different in the female world. At least 15-20 women charged forward. What a contrast.
Actually there were two celebrations going on at the same time. One on earth at Grace Christian Center and one in Heaven both celebrating this blessed union. Can't you just picture our heavenly Father, Jesus and all our family members celebrating?
All the glory goes to our Lord for this wonderful event, and thanks to every single person who helped in one way or another to make it a day to remember. My prayer is that each and every person who attended received healing and restoration in their relationships. We all need that.
Be blessed.
